【摘要】:Thisstandardtestmethodisintendedasanindextesttodeterminetheorganictreatloadingoforganophilicclay.Thisstandardtestmethodcanbeusedformanufacturingqualitycontrolandconstructionqualityassurancematerialevaluation.Thepercentorganictreatloadingoforganophilicclayisarelativeindicatorofitsadsorptivecapacity.Organophilicclayisusedforremediationofcontaminatedsediment,soil,andgroundwater.Thetwotestmethodsdenotedifferentdevices,amufflefurnaceandathermalgravimetricanalyzer.Thethermalgravimetricanalyzermaybeprogrammedtoreachahighertemperaturethanthemufflefurnace,buttheorganicmatterwillbeburntoffat750x00B0;C.Note28212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thisstandardcoverstwoindextestmethodsthatcanbeusedintheevaluationoftheamountoforganiccompoundchemicallybondedtothebaseclayportionofarepresentativesampleoforganophilicclay.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.3.1Theproceduresusedtospecifyhowdataarecollected/recordedorcalculatedinthisstandardareregardedastheindustrystandard.Inaddition,theyarerepresentativeofthesignificantdigitsthatgenerallyshouldberetained.Theproceduresuseddonotconsidermaterialvariation,purposeforobtainingthedata,specialpurposestudies,oranyconsiderationsfortheuserx2019;sobjectives;anditiscommonpracticetoincreaseorreducesignificantdigitsofthereporteddatatobecommensuratewiththeseconsiderations.Itisbeyondthescopeofthisstandardtoconsidersignificantdigitsusedinanalysismethodsforengineeringdesign.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
